Photographer: Hugh S. Anderson (b. between 1820 and 1828 Scotland)

Active in Petaluma: 1874 or 1875 -1876

Biographical Note: Anderson worked as an ambrotypist and paper photographer in Eureka, CA (1858-1865); Hydesville, CA (1859-1860); San Francisco, CA (1866-c.1895) and Petaluma, CA (1875-1876). Between 1875 and 1876 Anderson operated the H. Anderson’s Sunbeam Gallery at 649 Main Street, Petaluma, California

Description: Carte de visite of Peter Burnes' bust in an oval frame. Burnes is wearing a three-piece suit with a white undershirt and bowtie. His hair is combed and he has a large mustache. The photo was taken by H. Anderson at the Sunbeam Gallery in Petaluma. Both sides of this image have been scanned for this record. The photo's format and Anderson's studio in Petaluma date this photo to 1875.
