Biographical Note: Dowe worked in Petaluma as both a “view” and portrait photographer. After leaving Petaluma he worked in San Francisco, operated as a traveling photographer and by 1904, was working to repair musical instruments.

Description: Cabinet card of Edna Eleanor Haskins, approximately age 4. Haskins stands on a fringe studio chair She is wearing a light dress with detailing on the front. Her dress has a high collar and a necklace hangs around her neck. Edna is the sister of Edmond Sterling Haskins. The fringe studio chair, and Dowe's duration in Petaluma date this photo between 1877-1880.
