Description: Carte de visite of Nancy Jane (Jennie) Whitney's bust in an oval frame. The sepia tone denotes albumen processing on paper. Whitney's hair is pulled back and she is wearing a headband with a bow. She appears to be wearing a silk dress with braided detailing along the collar and buttons. Her collar is fastened into a bow and she is wearing a choker. The rounded corners and the oval frame of the card date the photo to the early 1870's, when Nancy Jane was 15 years old.

Biographical Note: Nancy Jane (Jennie) Whitney was born 1855 to Senator Albion P. Whitney and Susan Eastman. Her siblings include; Calvin E., Cleora, Arthur L., Leona, Marcella, Albion, and Clara.
