Description: Cabinet card of Mabel Black Putnam. Putnam has short curly bangs and the rest of her hair is pulled back. She is wearing a dress with big sleeves, characteristic of the late 1890's. There is pleating along the chest, ruffles around the sleeves, and a high collar. The photographer’s embossed signature, and Putnam's dress date the photo to the late 1890's.
Biographical Note: Mother of Rutherford Putnam, the husband of Petaluma mayor Helen Putnam. It seems Mabel B. Putnam was the namesake for Rutherford and Helen's daughter.
