Bibliography: Palmquist, pgs. 452-53; Mautz, pg.134.
Name(s): Jennie Whitney & Etta Attenbury
Description: Cabinet card of possibly Jennie (Nancy Jane) Whitney, and Etta Attenbury. The writing on the card says Jennie Whitney, but the women looks more like Jennie's sister Marcella (Ella Whitney). Both women have short bangs that frame their face and bows in their hair. Both women also have large frilly white lace collars pinned at the base of the neck.
Biographical Note: It is unclear whether it is Nancy Jane (Jennie) or Marcella (Ella) in the photo with Etta. Both Nancy Jane and Marcella are daughters of Senator Albion P. Whitney and Susan Eastman. Their siblings include; Calvin, Cleora, Arthur, Leona, Albion, and Clara. Etta Attenbury appears to be a friend of the family as she is in other photos with the Whitney girls.
